Voyant Tools are just excellent. At first, I wasn’t sure how to use an application to study History. It sounded exciting, and I loved making word art. But what are words, if not language, and language changes over time? You can copy in a URL and let Voyant know, and you will get an analysis of the words used on that site. You can even analyze a paper or book. Voyant rates which words are used most. It even gives the context of the works used. I used the novel Frankenstein by Shelley. I can easily see how this could be used for other humanities, but then I thought about how important language is to history. Language helps define a person.
