This application has so many possibilities. I could tell right away that it was made by and for Historians. It does talk a lot about nodes and edges. But I found this, like a line graph, easy to think about. The assignment was to enter a work from our seminar complete with DOI. I was given “Jockers & Underwood (2016). I was able to go through Zotero and find my noted citation. I enjoyed using the program with the whole class; it created connections as fast as they were entered and made phenomenal visuals. At first, it looked somewhat like an octopus of data, but it spread into other connections and sub-connections. We were only able to use the Beta version of Net.Create, but if you went to the Salon, you met one of the creators, Dr. Kalani Craig. She was very interesting because she has fantastic skills in computer science and is also a European historian. I’m excited to be able to use the new product, and I look forward to using it when it’s sold.
